We have Earth Day in April and if I recall right it also started in 1972. I had never heard of World Environmental Day, but I think it is a darn good idea.

Thanks for visiting myy blog and all your kind words.

Ironically, as I type this comment, I can hear the squealing brakes, and the stopping and starting of the trash man's truck, as he is working my street, picking up curbside containers of glass, plastics and paper. Another company will be along later this morning for my trash.

I have never heard of World Environment Day either, but I support it!

Have you ever peeked into the containers, to see how well people are doing in separating their disposables? It irks me no end to see a half-eaten sandwich casually tossed in with newspapers. Grr... Oops, sorry to get carried away like that! :-)

I'm happy to see the recycling and trash separation finally catching hold. Great looking receptacle.

Yes, a very sharp looking receptacle.

I think World Environment Day is an excellent idea, too. We have trash/recycling separation here in Boise, altho it's voluntary. But I think a majority of citizens do it.
