I have to use this opportunity to show you one of my favourite things in a church: a hassock.
Hassocks are cushions that people use to kneel. Used in churches they tend to be hand stitched in all sorts of motifs. To see the ones I showed before click here
I found this one in St Mary's in Stodmarsh.
Today is theme day in the City Daily Photo world and we all publish a common theme.

I had never seen hassocks before I went to England. Then agian, when I was young I went to the Methoduists and they don't kneel.

Do people have their own or are they provided by the church? Very interesting.
This is just lovely. I love that these were always handstitched. It's nice to think of all the people that have used them over the years. A lovely post for today. And different.
Oh that's pretty! I never knew about hassocks until now! Delightful- and practical.
Hassocks aren't something I have given much thought to, but I do now after seeing the ones you show. Very unusual and beautiful choice for the yellow.
