This picture was taken inside the Water Tower building in Canterbury Cathedral.
It was built in the 12th Century following the designs by Prior Wilbert. The water came froma cistern on the floor above and it was distributed to other parts of the monastery.
You can see what the building look like from the outside here.
A new photo of the beautiful city of Canterbury in Kent and surrounding area every day.

Hey, Rose! You and Eric must've been on the same wavelength: You each allowed me a visit to a church today! (Need I say again how much I loooove churches?) I really like the arches and the floor in this photo, and the information is quite interesting. Thank you! :)
Wow, really majestic for just a water tower.Very nice!
Very fitting photo for a Sunday. Such a clean feeling it's given me ;-)
How fabulous, Rose. Just love this photo. Such a wonderful cathedral. I see it's featured on the news tonight too.
Marvelous geometry in this image, Rose!
