Today is Shrove Tuesday, or "Pancake Tuesday" as it is known in Britain, and that's a day when families all over the country sit down to eat pancakes. If you can't make one here is the place to go. They make great ones, particularly the one with sugar and cinnamon... yummy!
==========
Here is a pancake recipe I borrowed from http://www.thefussyeater.blogspot.com/
For 4 small pancakes:
1 egg
2 spoons of flour
1 glass of milk
For savoury fillings two spoons of grated cheese and a spoon of olive oil.
For sweet feillings add a spoon of sugar, vanilla essence and a pinch of cinnamon
Mix it all together until the batter is thick but smooth.
Using a ladle, pour one ladle in a hot frying pan that has been coated with butter or margarine. Using a spoon, gently spread the mix to cover the bottom of the pan.
Once the butter is no longer runny, turn it over.
The sugar (or cheese) will give the pancake a golden colour.
Ideas
For savoury use ham and cheese fillings, chicken cut into very small pieces, spinach or asparagus.
For sweet pancakes use sugar and cinnamon (delicious with sliced bananas), ice-cream, sugar and lemon, chocolate sauce or any other mad mixture you fancy!
