Theme Day - Lines

The River Stour starts in Fordwich and runs for 19 miles when it arrives in the English Channel.

The ruler measures the water level of the river. Once it has reached dangerous levels the Enviroment Agency can issue warnings to people living in the area.

To sign up for Floodline Directar Direct call Floodline now on 0845 988 1188. They will send warnings to you via telephone, mobile, email, SMS text message, fax or pager. As well as signing up for warnings, you can get simple advice on what to do before, during and after a flood.

The power of water and the damage it can cause, during a flood, is a scary thing ... At the same time there is a instinctual pull for many to be near water which is a requirement of life ... I guess one learns to live with the floods ... Your choice to share lines on the ruler makes for an interesting theme day photo.

These are important lines for the community. I've been on self-imposed sabbatical, but have returned for theme day. Come visit!

This is the first line that I visit related to water. Interesting story behind your picture. Great interpretation.

Now these are very important lines! Great interpretation of the theme.

On a side note, I love those vines!

Those seldom seen, hidden treasures. :)

Original way to illustrate the theme day. This line will become important to look at in the future.

Not only do you show lines of measurement, but you extend lines of communication as well!

an unusual take on the theme - well done.

Oh lovely choice, Rose. Love the lines and the measurement, making more lines, too.

I m very lucky to not have ever experienced a flood but I guess you are right. People learn to deal/live with their danger around them.

Kate
Thank you for your visit. Only yesterday I was looking at my favourite blogs in CDP and noticed that you are still away...please come back. I loved your blog...

Harry Makertia
Thank you. I am glad you enjoyed it.

Hilda
I love the vines too... And my fascination with ivy come close to my love of wondows and churches.

Isadora
Indeed. This is not an obvious place, is it?
