As you know I often show you pictures of towns and villages near Canterbury.
Today you can see the smallest Town Hall in the smallest town in Britain: Fordwich Town Hall.
This building was built during the reign of Henry VIII and obviously was slightly different from what you see today. It had a tatched roof and its walls were washed with thick lime plaster.

What a cute building! How many people in the smallest town?
Very interesting piece of history!
lovely! love the composition of your picture!
I thought the same thing Katie did...tres cute! Amazing blog you have here, Rose. This shot makes me hungry for a turkey leg. :-)
It is still a way cool building.
Neat! We have copies of this style of building here, but nothing compares to the real thing! How small a town is it?
Hi Rose, Another great picture. Quite Stunning
Such a solid looking little building. I want to hear all the stories it could tell.
from Cali is right, a solid building. Henry VIII was king from 1509 to 1547. This building is almost 500 years old!
Rose, Rose, Rose! I love the historical treats you give us. They tug at my heart and imagination.
Are they still open for business, or has the little town disappeared around it?
Katie
In 2005 they had about 300 people.
Ms M
The entire place is full of history. A trully amazing place.

I have another pic that has a more artistic composition. I chose this one because you can actually see the entire building.

Thank you very much for dropping by. A turkey leg? You must be very hungry then! lol
Marcel
Indeed. Not only because it is groovy but also because it has no central heating.

Very small...
John
Thanks but you are biased! ;)
Cali
Last time I went there I was too busy to hear what it whispered to me. If you ever make it to England, we can go and listen together ;)

Wait until I tell the story about their special box they have inside the building. It has three keys so it needs three keyholders present for the box to be opened.
And inside you can see...

I don't know about shops but they have 2 pubs and they are always busy.
Rose, you're so unfair!
But I will keep coming back to find out.
I am bad in history. But I couldn't hold my curiousity, ..mmm, how old is this house?
We need to know what is inside that box! You are such a tease.
AHA!
I will keep it a secret for when you come to visit me :)
That is a good looking building. Maybe Henry VIII had one of his many weddings there!
