Walmer Castle

Walmer Castle was built in the reign of Henry VIII as part of his defence strategy against the attacks of European Catholic forces.
In 1708 it became the official residence of the Lord Warden of Cinque Ports.
It was also the place where the Duke of Wellington died (14 September 1852) and, apparently, his spirit is still there.

Fabulous shot! 'Makes me wanna stand right there, drink in the surroundings, and then perhaps wander inside.

Fantastic shot! And I'm always up for the legends, the stories about spirits that roam an old dwelling...

That looks like an opening shot from a movie in the 1930's. Ghosts too? This photo has it all. Very atmospheric.
